Number of the day...
Today's number of the day is Number '6'!
As well as learning how to recognise the numerals 1-20, the Ladybirds and Butterflies also practise forming (writing) the numbers 0-9 correctly. Here is a catchy rhyme and a visual picture to support your child with learning how to form this number correctly. 'Down we go and make a loop, number 6 makes a hoop!' Use your child's number formation sheet to practise forming (writing) the Number 6. Why not practise on paper, on a chalkboard, in your child's exercise book or even in the bath too!

Tricky words of the week!
This week's tricky words are 'out' and 'when'.
Why not practise reading these words using 'Look', 'Cover' and 'Say'! Show your child the tricky word, then cover it up, show them again and encourage them to read it from memory. Repeat as many times as you need to. Have a look at the attached fun ideas to support your child with learning to read this week's tricky words! Enjoy!

Don't forget that it is really important that your child learns each letter by its PURE sound (phoneme) NOT by its name.
