Afternoon Task – Science – Today we are going to carry on with our rocks and soil topic.

The next part of this topic is to learn about soil formation. We are going to be thinking how we have soil on Earth and where it comes from. Firstly, read the story of Roger Rock and Simon Soil.

When you’ve read the story through, think about what happened to Roger Rock and how we now have Simon Soil. Create your own comic strip/storyboard about the journey that Roger goes on to end up being Simon Soil. Blank storyboard attached here. We would love to see you storyboards when you have finished. Make sure you include lots of detail and some colourful pictures.

Wednesday

English Task – Today you are going to plan and maybe begin to write a description of your own villain!  Have a look at this link to help with your planning: Character Description Planning Sheet

Once you have planned your villain in lots of detail, you could start to write your own description – remember that you are describing them, not telling me a story about them at the moment!

Maths TaskMaths WRH - 01.06.20

Afternoon Task – Science – Look at the sheet attached. There will be some words that we would like to you to research and write down the meanings in your notebook. The words are linked to rocks and soil and you may need to use them next week as we may attempt an investigation about rocks and soil.

Afterwards, get out in the garden, enjoy being outside and try and find some different rocks or stones in your garden. Feel how rough, soft and hard they are. Do they crumble? What colours are they? If you find some, keep them somewhere safe.

Thursday

English Task – Today we would like you to finish writing your character description.  If you finish doing this, we would love you to check it through really carefully (maybe ask a grown up to help you with this), then, write it up in your neatest writing, or type it up if you are able and draw a picture of your villain.  We’d love to see your final work – send it to us at Year3@alford.lincs.sch.uk

Maths Task Maths WRH - 01.06.20

Afternoon Task – Science – Going back to fossils today. We are going to research and famous dinosaur to find out who discovered that certain dinosaur. Fill in the fact sheet about which dinosaur’s fossil was found and who found it. Email your work to the email so we can see your wonderful work! Year3@alford.lincs.sch.uk
